Independence Day

A friend at work is having a grilled pizza party today. It sounded like fun, so I decided to try it also. Michael isn't fond of things that are out of the ordinary, so he is a little hesitant and wants to have a back-up plan. I'll let you know how it turns out.....

Grilled Pizza Update:

Turned out GREAT!!!!! I found a fast, easy and yummy pizza dough recipe and an equally easy and yummy pizza sauce recipe for our grilled pizzas. We brushed the dough with olive oil so that it would not stick to the grill. Michael grilled the pizzas on one side for about 3 minutes and then we loaded them with toppings and then put them back on the grill for another 3 minutes. We were only able to grill 2 pizzas at a time, so not everyone ate at the same time, but it was a blast.

After dinner, we hopped in the van and quickly drove to a local church to watch fireworks. We parked, laid our blankets out and sat down in enough time to hear the national anthem and watch the fireworks show. We then came back home for our own fireworks show! Michael had a stockpile of fireworks.

It was a great Independence Day, other than my mom getting hit with a frisbee....

I think Michael will be the first to admit, it was FABULOUS!
I loved everything until I got hit in the face with the frisbee.

Just kidding. Loved the whole menu, the company and just wish I had been able to stay for the fireworks. I saw fireworks when the frisbee hit me in the face, but not the kind I had been hoping to see tonight.

Fortunately, I did see some on the way home while driving on I-10.

Love you guys.

Okay, that sounds wicked yummy. What kind did you wind up making? Can't wait to hear all the details. I had a bunless hamburger and gluten-free potato chips. All in all, it was very tasty! Watermelon, of course, for dessert.
It was a fun time....the kids spent most of the day in the pool.

Cute Chalk Board, is that yours? Was the pizza good enough to have again?

Yep, made the chalk board. I found the frame at a garage sale...it was painted a distressed gold and it didn't have any glass or back, so it was 25 cents. Then, Jason had a thin piece of scrap wood that he sanded and primed and then I painted with chalkboard paint.
Yes....the pizzas were good enough to have again...actually, had them last night! They were a hit again.

2008 is going to be great....
It's the year I'm going to lose weight!
